AEDC and TCN join forces to review the electricity transmission master plan
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) said it is cooperating with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for the review of the transmission expansion master plan which will boost power supply in its franchise area.
AEDC Managing Director, Engr Adeoye Fadeyibi, who said during an interface at AEDC Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, added that the two companies are forging stronger ties to improve procurement services. electricity to customers.
AEDC Technical Director, Engineer Kassim Abdullahi, who represented Fadeyibi at the meeting, assured that the management is ready to support TCN in the implementation of its master plan.
In his remarks, AEDC’s Marketing Director, Donald Etim, said the company is keen to improve the power supply to its customers and will implement any strategy that will enable it to achieve this.

For his part, the managing director of TCN, engineer Sule Abdulaziz, congratulated engineer Fadeyibi on taking office as the new head of AEDC.
The Head of TCN, represented by the General Manager of System Planning and Development, Engineer Kabiru Adamu, said the master plan is 20 years; to be reviewed every five years, adding that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) had approved the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) for Distribution Companies (DisCos) and was to submit the revised Master Plan with the PIP to NERC for approval.
He said: “Now is the time to get our PIP and submit it to the regulator for approval, but he needs to have a handshake with the DisCos PIP and the production company (GenCos) work plans.”
The two companies have formed a steering committee to provide high-level oversight of the transmission expansion master plan review process that covers all 11 DisCos and more than 20 GenCos.
