To achieve this goal, the Power-to-X for Applications working group of the VDMA (Mechanical Engineering Industry Association) and Messe Düsseldorf have signed an agreement. The show is aimed specifically at industry and commerce – GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST support the event.
VDMA will bring its expertise and contacts within the industry to strengthen the show’s green hydrogen and Power-to-X offer. Power-to-X for Applications will be involved in a number of ways, including shaping the decarbXpo show program and forums, and will also be present at the show with its own stand.
Hydrogen and P2X technologies decisive for industrial decarbonization
For years, the VDMA has been a partner of numerous industrial goods fairs at the Düsseldorf site. These include the world’s leading trade fairs for energy-intensive industries such as glasstec and The Bright World of Metals, which result in valuable synergies for companies in the glass, foundry and metalworking industries by visiting decarbXpo. But other key industry players, such as Wire, Tube, and VALVE WORLD EXPO, also belong to energy-intensive industries.
“The new partnership shows that the machinery and plant construction industry takes its responsibility to ensure that the industry becomes climate neutral. The Power-to-X technologies presented at decarbXpo are a decisive element in reducing CO2 emissions in energy-intensive application areas of industry. The trade fair thus makes a significant contribution to the implementation of greenhouse gas reduction targets,” says Peter Müller-Baum, Managing Director of Power-to-X for Applications, confidently.
The decarbXpo cooperates with various trade fairs and thus brings together storage suppliers and energy efficiency experts with industrial and commercial users of storage technologies. “The cooperation with VDMA is an excellent addition to our existing partnerships in the industry, as it decisively strengthens the hydrogen and Power-to-X segment of the show,” adds Bernd Jablonowski, Executive Director of Messe Düsseldorf.
New opportunities for machine building
“The mechanical and plant construction sector develops necessary and sustainable technologies to combat climate change. The conversion of green electricity to other energy carriers via Power-to-X is a key technology that will help industry and the traffic sector to become climate neutral, which is a significant contribution. In their function as energy storage systems, hydrogen and other Power-to-X solutions also contribute to securing the supply of the energy sector,” explains Peter Müller-Baum. “With Messe Düsseldorf and the Expo for Decarbonised Industries > ENERGY STORAGE, we have now found a strong partner with whom we can develop a corresponding trade fair.”
