Review of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop 2 Pro

Xiaomi India is expanding its portfolio, we recently saw the company’s new Smart Air Fryer, and now we see another smart home product, the new robot vacuum cleaner – Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop 2 Pro. This battery-powered robot vacuum cleans every corner of the floor with its microfibers, distributes water evenly, dries the floor quickly, and can be controlled via the Xiaomi Home mobile app. Here is what we have to say about the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop 2 Pro in our test.

Design and construction

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop 2 Pro is a disc-shaped vacuum cleaner which is mainly designed to clean floors by automatically replacing manual sweeping and manual mopping. With a diameter of 353mm and a height of 96.5mm, it can easily roll under sofas and tables. The box includes a charging station, a cleaning cloth dampened with a microfiber cloth, a spare side brush, a brush to clean the robot, user manuals and a warranty card.

The robot uses an updated Laser Distance Sensor (LDS), which rotates 360 degrees. LIDAR is responsible for navigation, an interference detection sensor is located on the front of the mechanical bumper, and the charging contacts are visible from the rear.

You will find two buttons on the top of the device – The Power button which allows you to start or pause the robot, and the Home button which forces it back to the charging base. The dust collector is located under the top cover as you can see. The filtration system is based on a HEPA filter. The water tank (250 ml) is attached to the bottom of the housing.

There’s also a speaker, the robot uses voice prompts to indicate what it’s doing, with announcements to start, finish and charge, plus reminders to remove and clean fittings.

Performance, features and connectivity

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum Mop 2 Pro is equipped with 19 high-precision sensors, LIDAR anti-collision sensor, 6 cliff sensors and anti-fall sensors adding more precision and accuracy for cleaning and routes . The vacuum can climb heights up to 20mm long using these sensors.


The smart robot vacuum cleaner has 43% stronger suction power of 3000Pa, which means the robot can effortlessly suck large particles of dust and debris from all hidden crevices for effective cleaning. It has 3 suction modes and 4 suction power settings that you can control from your smartphone using the Xiaomi Home app.

The vacuum maps your home using its next-generation LDS laser navigation to ensure a proper cleaning route. Improved LDS laser navigation scans up to 10 meters away (was 8 meters) accurately and precisely maps your home to provide a reliable cleaning route day or night.

The cleaner offers a bunch of useful features – multi-story mapping which maps multiple floors which can then be changed for cleaning as needed, location storage which remembers the location regardless of where it is moved, as well as intelligent resume cleaning that automatically resumes cleaning after charging.

The robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with high-frequency sound vibration technology – the vibration frequency during wet cleaning is 10,000 vibrations per minute, during wet cleaning the vacuum cleaner wipes the surface from left to right – such Y-shaped route simulates manual cleaning to ensure floor stains are thoroughly removed.

You can pair the device with your smartphone via the Xiaomi Home app, the cleaner has Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) for connectivity. Once you’ve paired the device, you have plenty of options in the app, you have multiple cleaning choices, and you can manually control the cleaner using your smartphone.

Battery life

Surprisingly, what’s great about this device is that it’s battery operated, you don’t have to plug it in to use it, all you need to do is charge it and go. It packs a 5200mAh battery (over 62% upgrade over its predecessor) that works as much as it can clean an entire house on a full charge, the robot can clean areas over 2000 square feet at a time, making it one of the best battery saving devices.


The Xiaomi Vacuum Mop 2 Pro offers an enhanced vacuuming experience, it comes with 3000Pa suction power, high precision sensors and LIDAR navigation for more precision. Next-generation LDS laser navigation ensures improved routes and the electronically regulated water tank replaces manual cleaning. It cleans with microfibers then quickly dries the floor, it can clean an entire house on a full charge (2,000 square feet in one go). Since it is a smart home device, you can pair it with the Xiaomi Home app and control it, choose multiple cleaning options, in addition, control it via voice commands (Google Assistant and Alexa).
